Laugharne Citizen Science Group is a dedicated team of volunteers who are passionate about monitoring and preserving the quality of the river water in Laugharne. By conducting regular water testing and observing the wildlife in and around the River, the group aims to provide valuable information to the community and raise awareness about environmental conservation.

After the water has been collected we use 3 tests to check the water quality- Nitrate, Ammonia and phosphate. We use a dissolved oxygen meter to check the water when samples are collected.
The testing equipment is from Hanna Instruments, bought through the fund raising we did-thanks to all who contributed.
Nitrate- a Portable Photometer HI-99728
Phosphate-low range Checker HC colorimeter HI-713
Ammonia- Medium range Checker HI-715
Dissolved Oxygen meter HI-9147-04.
An interactive map of the river will allow users to explore different areas and learn more about the wildlife and habitats that exist along the River.
In the future, the group has plans to create a community forum where members can engage in discussions, share ideas, and collaborate on conservation efforts.
